Final Spring 2011 Tier List

So here is the final Spring 2011 Tier List. This spring was really a blast as well as full of disappointments. We had shows that really flew through the roof and shows that dropped like a rock from the get-go despite all the hype it was receiving.

Without further ado, here is the final list. [+/- #] next to the name of a series means how much the series has moved from its initial spot when the season/list first began. To be fair for shows that ended this season, shows continuing on and through the summer season will be limited to their 12th or 13th episode (except Suite Precure because of its different airing pattern). Note that this list does not include Gintama 2011, Inazuma Eleven Go, Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei, Danbooru Senki, Duel Masters Victory, Pokemon Best Wishes, Metal Fight Beyblade 4D, and Jewelpet Sunshine as I have not seen these shows.

This list will translate over to the Spring 2011 Last Impressions and Awards posts that will follow this post.

"God" Tier - The so-called "must watch" titles. These titles define a genius piece of work.
1) Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (Ano Hana) [+0]
2) Steins;Gate [+3]
3) Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai -True Route Ending- (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute -True Route Ending-) [+0]

"A" Tier - Yes, there is an A tier after a god tier. These are also "must watch" titles, but differ from those in the tier above in that they lack a certain "something," whether it be a convincing plot, lackluster animation, or simply not as enjoyable.
4) Hana-saku Iroha [-2]
5) GOSICK [-1]
6) Kaiji Season 2 [+0]
7) Fairy Tail [+2]
8) Tiger and Bunny [+7]
9) Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (Electromagnetic Wave Woman and Adolescent Man) [+1]
10) Fireball Charming [-2]

"B" Tier - Material that shows potential. Shows that have a decent premise and a solid staff, but generally lacks direction or takes too long to develop a proper premise.
11) Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai II (The World God Only Knows II) [+1]
12) Shouwa Monogatari TV [+14]
13) Nichijou [+4]
14) A Channel [+2]
15) Deadman Wonderland [-4]

"C" Tier - Here is where things begin to become questionable. Whether it's the staff backing it or simply an obvious lack of effort put into making it, the shows here clearly are out of the league of A and God tiers.
16) Suite Precure! [+4]
17) Toriko [+4]
18) X-Men [+4]
19) Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist) [-1]
20) Maria Holic Alive [-9]
21) [C] - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control [-14]
22) Hidan no Aria (Aria The Scarlet Ammo) [-8]
23) Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san [-4]
24) Hyouge Mono [-1]
25) Moshidora [-1]

"D" Tier - Shows that are nearly unwatchable. Normally these are shows that the average person would drop upon seeing 1 or 2 episodes.
26) Dog Days [-1]
27) Digimon Xros Wars: The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms [+5]
28) Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL [+5]
29) Astarotte no Omocha! [-2]
30) Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi [-2]
31) Beelzebub  [-2]
32) Hen Zemi TV [-2]

"E" Tier - The tier of questionable existence. Basically, as the previous sentence implies, should these shows even be around? The average person would avoid these shows but at best try the first episode or two.
33) Sket Dance [-2]
34) Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai [+0]
35) Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera [+0]
36) Cardfight Vanguard!! [+6]
37) Sengoku Otome ~Momoiro Paradox~ [-1]
38) Seikon no Qwaser II [-1]

"F" Tier - As the tier name implies, this tier is made of failure series. Series that guaranteed should not exist. These are shows that the average viewer expect to be bad and the actual result is within that expectation.
39) 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku [-1]
40) Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream [-1]
41) Softenni [-1]
42) Starry Sky [-1]
43) Tono to Issho: Gantai no Yabou [+0]

  1. Fairy Tail is the best of Anime adventures. I like their soundtrack and battle screen!
